In 1969 a building for an office of a collective farm "9th May" was opened. The building also included a new, modern part for local people in Väätsa - club house. Later it was called Väätsa Culture Centre.
During the years culture centre has been a heart for children, young and old people to go together, celebrate anniversaries, do activities.
Now folk dance groups "Riikar" and "Ilodus" as well as folk bands practice there. They all have taken part in folk festivals in Estonia as well as abroad.Old people's group "Shamrock" goes there to sing, dance and do handicraft.People can do different kinds of art, ceramics, etc there.Song contests for children all over Järva County are organized there. An over-Estonian event "Countryman Chortles" is carried out here since 1996. Exhibitions for art and handicraft, natural and nature products are displayed in culture centre. Shrove Tuesdays, Midsummer Days, Christmas and New Year events are organized there as well as anniversaries for Väätsa Municipality. Annually a prize for the most active woman in Väätsa Municipality is given every spring.
Youth centre was opened in 2009. Youngsters can go there in the evenings to play billiard, board games, table tennis and organize different workshops. They can also carry out outdoor activities.
